Mustard Seed Faith

Of course I have to give Meeko his fair share of the spotlight! This is baby Meeko, shortly after we got him. Meeko will turn 11 years old this month and is rather hefty now. But he's still just as beautiful.

And today's Bible study actually came about because of my cat! He wakes me up every day around 5:00 like clockwork for his breakfast of Fancy Feast. Unfortunately he doesn't understand about weekends, but we're working on that! I rarely leap out of bed to attend to his every need right away and today was no exception. As I lay there waking up with a loudly purring cat curled up next to me, I thought about his blind faith in his daily meal. It would never occur to him that I wouldn't get up and give him Fancy Feast in the morning - he just knows it to be true. So why then is it so difficult for us to have faith in our Father - even in the bad times? The Bible says that if we have faith even as small as a mustard seed we could move mountains. And yet how many times on the evening news have you seen reports of moving mountains? (Yes, I realize the moving mountains doesn't mean literally a mountain, but you get what I'm saying.) Something to ponder on today....

~ Elizabeth

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20
