Ultimate Blog Party 2010
Hello and welcome to my blog! If you haven’t heard of the Ultimate Blog Party, click on over and see the billions of links to blogs that you might not have seen before. And for a blast from the past, here’s my post from the 2009 Ultimate Blog Party.
So now for a little about me. I am Elizabeth, a Christian woman married to my beloved of 30 years yesterday! Wow – times really does fly when you’re having fun! I have an awesome son, daughter and daughter-in-law and my amazing granddaughter Brooklyn. She’ll turn 3 in July and is such a joy to be with. Here we are with the Easter bunny at our church’s community event last Saturday:
I do enjoy posting videos that feature Brooklyn, like this one where she tells me I’m “too big” to get in a closet while we were at an RV show. Ah…the honesty of little ones!
I have many hobbies – including knitting, card making, cooking – and I even have a new blog for that, Gramma’s Cookin’ that is taking much of my time – and reading. I’m fortunate to be able to do book reviews for several different groups, so you’ll find reviews of Christian books a couple of days a month here.
One of my favorite blog memes is the Friday Fave Five where we list 5 of our blessings from the week prior. I have found that no matter how bad your day/week is, just the process of picking out the blessings “turns your frown upside down” in no time at all.
Before I leave, here’s one more picture of Brooklyn. She has on her “princess” dress for Easter. :)
Oh and there are prizes for the Ultimate Blog Party! We are supposed to list what we’d like, so here are my prize picks if I should win:

Sunday Chatter – and a Book Winner!
First I want to announce the winner of my drawing for the book Double Trouble by Susan May Winner …. Susan at Baking With Susan! And I do encourage everybody to visit her blog as she has some great recipes and reviews. This is definitely a plus to having a drawing – I got to visit some great new to me blogs.

Tonight the family is sitting curled in front of the tv watching the US / Canada hockey game and my what a great game it is! So fast paced and so happy to see these two teams play together. We were somewhat disappointed at the announcers at the beginning of the game as they said that the US and Canada are “bitter rivals” and called this a “border rivalry”. While we are indeed rivals, instead of bitter we see it as more of a “brotherly rival” in that if the US does not win we definitely want Canada to win.
And as we watch, I’m busy working on three different knitting projects. I have gotten so much knitting done lately, which is very satisfying. Biggest reason for all the knitting is that I haven’t felt good all week, to the point that I’ve had to cancel plans on three different days this week. So hard to do, but I knew that I needed the rest and I know it was the right thing to do. I’m hoping for a better week coming up!
One last note, on the weather no less. We woke up this morning to a good old-fashioned thunderstorm. Honestly if you didn’t know better you would swear it was spring based on the thunder and lightning and the amount of rain coming down. Stranger still, we have a very good chance of snow on Tuesday. This is one of the most interesting winters in North Texas that we’ve seen in a very long time!

Merry SITSmas 2009!
My Christmas post will feature my precious granddaughter Brooklyn, 2 years ago. She is the light of our lives and we enjoy her so much. Can't wait to get a new Christmas picture of her this year!
May your Christmas season bring you many blessings this year. Remember the little baby lo this many years ago that started it all off. As we wait for His triumphant return!
