And One And Two And…..

excercise-bike-cat

We finally faced the cold hard fact that we REALLY need to get back to exercising.  Last night was our first time doing Gilad’s Total Body Sculpt video together (it’s on Discovery Fit & Health channel if you want to find it – we’re recording it on our “VCR” to do later – yes we are that lame that we still have a VCR).

Today I could probably tell you exactly how many muscles I have in my back, thighs and abs because I can feel EVERY.SINGLE.ONE.OF.THEM!  I keep telling myself that it means I did GOOD last night!

And it is fun to laugh together.  I’m hoping this is the start of something good for us.  Smile

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine Clipart Images

I hope that Happy Cupid visits your home today to help spread the love!

I’m not sure what we’ll be doing this evening.  We don’t really buy gifts for Valentine’s Day, but we do usually go out for dinner and spend some time gazing into each other’s eyes…even after all these years.  And that’s what love is all about!

Anniversary Eve

Tomorrow will be our 30th Anniversary.  When we stop and really think about it I do believe we’re a little shocked at how the years have gone by so fast.  It truly doesn’t seem that long.

Imagine my surprise when Keith came home from work today carrying this:

Totally unexpected to receive flowers the day before your anniversary and I think he was rather tickled that he was able to surprise me so thoroughly.

And tonight, it being Anniversary Eve and all, Keith came up with such a romantic idea for dinner….the three of us went to Taco Bell!  Lo these many years ago my best friend and her boyfriend set up Keith (the boyfriend’s friend) and I on a blind date, doubling with them.  Donna and I met Keith and John at the local Taco Bell on the main drag and that’s where we all had dinner.  Afterwards we walked next door to the Putt Putt and played a round of miniature golf.  So it really was a romantic idea of his for us to go to Taco Bell for dinner.  :)

Looking forward to another wonderful 30 years together!

Dinner and a Movie, Retro Style

Does this look familiar? I asked my kids and a few gals at work if they remembered the giant cow outside the Sirloin Stockade restaurants and got some blank stares. Are we really that old? LOL!

While on vacation we decided to go out one night for dinner and a movie. Really I think we chose the Sirloin Stockade at least as much for the nostalgia value as we did for the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was really good, but oh how we enjoyed being there. I remember going to one with my parents when we were younger and also when we'd go to Arkansas to visit my grandparents and aunt we'd sometimes splurge and go (though I will admit that going out with the grandparents was a rarity as grandma LOVED to cook).

Dinner was finished in plenty of time to head to the theater. I think we realized just how spoiled we are in the Dallas area to have the stadium seating theaters and even movie theaters that serve dinner during the movie. During vacation though we were in a very small town and this theater reminded me of going to the movies many years ago. Back before everything had to be the biggest, loudest and shiniest. And the best part of this theater? Seeing a first run movie at 7:00 pm on a Friday night cost $3.00!

Truly it was a great evening together.

Happy Anniversary Babe!

My original plan for today's blog was to scan one of our wedding pictures. Unfortunately my computer is down, which means no access to the scanner. So imagine if you will two young people who look really young, attired in groovy '80's clothes and have '80's hair and that would be us. And today we celebrated 29 years of marriage. :)

We ended up going to a little restaurant that a friend of Keith's had recommended that required a leisurely 45 minute drive to a nearby small town. Dinner was great and then we went strolling around the square afterwards (to walk off some of the dinner perhaps?). This building is the county courthouse and I was enchanted by its charm. Keith pointed out that it was built of granite and I think that was one of the things that made it such an imposing building.

The square was full of cute shops, including a craft mall and several antique shops. Unfortunately it was too late in the day and they all were closed. I do believe I can talk him into going back with me sometime, especially when we saw the cutest park ever! Honestly I see a Saturday with Brooklyn in our future.

And Happy Birthday! Today is also my baby brother's birthday. So a very happy birthday to you and I hope you enjoyed your dinner as well. :)

Senior Angel Valentine Gift

Since today is Valentine's Day it seemed appropriate to show these fabulous tea towels. I saw them at Home Goods, one of the best stores ever for getting low priced nice things for your home, and instantly fell in love.

They went in a package to the lady that I am a Senior Angel to. I figured everybody can use tea towels and when I see pretty ones like these hanging in my kitchen they make me smile, so surely they will do the same for her.

And this is the Valentine that I sent along with it. I found it online, printed it, cut it out and added the Stickles to make it a little more sparkly. Funny thing is, I think this card is Keith's favorite of the cards I've done and it really was one of the easiest.

Hope that today is "love"ly for everybody! Not sure yet what we'll be doing, but I'm sure we'll enjoy. The important thing is being together. :)

Love Is.....Half a Big Mac

I've been blessed to be able to work from home a couple of days a week with my current job.  And I'll admit that sometimes my lunch at home gets kind of boring.  So the last couple of days I've sent a teasing text message to Keith asking him to bring me a Big Mac meal for lunch.  You know honey, just drop everything you're doing at your job just to bring home some junk food for the wife.  We tease back and forth in text messages and the day just seems brighter.
Well I will have you know that Keith showed up with a Big Mac meal in hand after work!  I burst out laughing and he was pleased as punch at my reaction.  I went in and cut it in half and we each had half a Big Mac meal.  I say you can keep the diamond rings....my man brings me beef!  (ok, so we're really not so certain it's actual beef in a Big Mac, but a girl can dream!)
