Last night was the first in a 9 week Bible Study at church called Debunking the DaVinci Code and it was truly phenomenal! It's an hour and a half each Wednesday night and honestly my mind did not wander even one minute. I love our new pastor as he shares so much biblical knowledge and is a truly gifted orator. The class began with the movie trailer and then he started speaking and we were looking up Bible verses right and left. And one of the coolest things is that the church plans on renting a movie theater for us all to see the movie together! Ah, sweet life. To kick off the study we had a dinner in fellowship hall last night. There are a group of men at our church called the "Holy Smokers" and they provide wonderful BBQ meals for many of our events. Once a month they travel just north of here to a home for abused kids and let the kids help them cook and serve a lunch. Great ministry. We got our food and sat with a couple we didn't know and got to hear quite a bit about the church in past years. And I just found her delightful as she went on and on about how we didn't look old enough to have been married 26 years. :)

Our church is planning something with regard to the Da Vinci Code book/movie, but I'm not sure what is planned yet.
I read the book...or rather heard it on CD last summer. I enjoyed it but I picked it apart left right and center lol. I had borrowed it from one of the girls at work, and when I took it back to her she asked what I thought. I said it was good but they guy's theology was wrong. She chuckled at me. She knows I'm Christian, go to church, and a attend a Christian University.
